Sanju Samson, who replaced injured Ambati Rayudu in the Indian squad for the remaining of Zimbabwe tour, on Monday, and he becomes the 3rd Kerala Player. This is the first time that a Cricketer who hails from the District is being selected to the represent the Senior National side, earlier Raiphi Vincent Gomez and Rohan Prem of Trivandrum District Cricket Association (TDCA) played for Indian Junior Side (India Under-19s)
Sanju said Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) president TC Mathew had informed him and congratulated him for his selection to the Indian team. The wicketkeeper-batsman, who was unaware of his selection, said he was at a loss of words when Mathew congratulated him.
The young cricketer was all praise for Kerala Cricket Association for giving him all support throughout his cricketing career. Samson plays for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League
