Manav Krishna makes debut in Ranji trophy

Manav Krishna, the teen prodigy from Trivandrum, made his Ranji Trophy debut today for the Kerala team against Goa at the Goa Cricket Association Ground, Penha de França.

The wicket-keeper batter was inducted into the squad following his prolific scoring in the Cooch Behar Trophy and C.K. Nayudu Trophy, where he represented the Under-19 and Under-23 teams.

Selection trails to the Trivandrum District U-19 Mens’ Cricket Team shall be held at The Green Field International Stadium (The Sports Hub) on 07-04-2025 at 08.00am.
Players who are Registered with The Trivandrum District Cricket Association,
(1) Born in Trivandrum on or after 01-09-2006 or,
(2)Who are born on after the aforesaid date in other places and studying in recognized Educational Institutions in Trivandrum District from the last academic year onwards or,
(3) Who are engaged in permanent employment for the last twelve months in recognized Organizations having office in Trivandrum District,
are eligible to participate in the selection trails.
Eligible players can register their name at the Office of the Trivandrum District Cricket Association, KCA Complex, T.C 24/131(1) Sasthamkovil Road, Thycaud Trivandrum.

Trivandrum DCA extended their winning streak to four matches in the NSK Trophy state Championship 2024, defeating Wayanad DCA by a convincing 73 runs. This dominant win not only showcased TDCA’s impressive form but also secured their spot in the semi-finals.
The TDCA team put on a masterclass performance, dominating their opponents in every aspect of the game. After setting a formidable target of 211, the team’s bowlers stifled Wayanad DCA to 137, with Rahul Chandran leading the charge with a devastating 3/22. His spell proved decisive, showcasing the team’s exceptional skill and teamwork.

Earlier, Akshay Shiv (60 in 44) and skipper Krishnaprasad (35 in 28) laid the foundation with a solid opening partnership, paving the way for a perfect start. Abhijith Praveen (26 in 13), Bharath Surya (33 in 11), and Devan (26 in 11) then unleashed a batting onslaught, decimating the opposition’s bowling attack and registering the highest total of the tournament. Akshay Shiv’s impressive knock earned him the well-deserved Player of the Match award.

Trivandrum DCA posts third consecutive win

“Trivandrum DCA put on a commanding display, outclassing Kottayam DCA in a convincing win that secured their spot in the next stage of the 2nd NSK Trophy cricket tournament. The match was defined by a sensational unbeaten third-wicket partnership of 97 in just 7.1 overs between captain Krishnaprasad (79 in 51 balls) and impact player Neel Sunny (59 in 22 balls), who propelled TDCA to a formidable target of 204 runs.

Rain intervened, reducing the Kottayam DCA innings to 10 overs, but the TDCA bowlers were relentless. Vijay Viswanath led the charge, taking 4 wickets for a mere 8 runs in a devastating 1.3-over spell. Kottayam DCA were eventually bowled out for 84 in 9.3 overs, handing TDCA a resounding victory.

This dominant performance showcased TDCA’s depth and talent, as they marched into the next round with confidence and momentum.”
